Need help with PC upgrades

My PC is pretty snappy as of now (it has a 15 sec startup despite being so old!) but I don't think I am going to be able to keep up for much longer.
Here are my specs,

Windows XP SP3
AMD Sempron 3400+ @1.99GHz
1.5 GB ddr
Nvidea 8500GT 1GB DDR2 VRAM
160GB HDD
250W PSU

Thats about all I have. The RAM cannot be changed though I have it at max capacity.

The newest game I can play is left 4 dead 2 with all settings on low except for the resolution.

so, what do I do, this PC is 6 or 7 I think I want it to last for a good 3 more years.

I honestly don't think your PC will last for another 3 years, no matter what you would do to it. In fact, you actually pushed the system 3 years more already than most of us would want to use.

I can't tell what socket your Sempron is running on, socket 754, 939, or AM2? Is your 8500GT a PCI-Express video card currently? If so you can upgrade the video card to something like 4670 512MB. If your CPU socket is 939 or AM2, then you can probably find some used Athlon X2 CPUs to replace your Sempron.

I agree, the best upgrades would be a CPU and Vidcard, and the cheapest way is through the FS/T forums. 😉
