Need help with Outlook 2000

I have Outlook set to automatically open email attachments (forwarded messages) when I click on them, instead of asking if I should open them or save them. I installed my dad's email program on my computer, and then whenever I tried to open an email attachments, it tried to open it in that program. I uninstalled it, but now it opens the attachments in Microsoft Exchange, instead of Outlook like I want it to. How can I fix this?

Open an IE 5.x or 6.x window
type "c:" in the address bar

Tools->folder options->file types

change the association for .eml or something of the sort. I don't recall.

It's .msg files. It didn't work though. I tried saving the file to my desktop, and it opens in outlook when I do that, but when I try to open it through outlook, it gives me an error. The error says "The operation failed due to network or other communication problems. Check your conections and try again."

I think that Outlook has a different file type database than Windows does through Folder Options.
