Need help with onboard audio drivers for k7s5a

ok, i'm at my breaking point. I have looked everywhere for the sound drivers needed to get my onboard sound working (Avance AC97). My motherboard is the ECS k7s5a. The CD that came with it doesn't work. My operating system is Windows 98: 1st Edition. Please someone help me! I've searched google and literly looked through the top 400 results matched with no luck. I know there is a simple site to download the right drivers from, but I cant find it. The "Avance" site and the "ECS" site are NO HELP. If anyone knows where I can download the right drivers please let me know! I think ive lost 5 years of my life over this!

If nothing else works, go to Start > Windows Update then > product update - check your system for updates, scroll down to the bottom of recommended update page and check for available driver updates, you should see something like "SiS Audio drivers" select download and let MS Windows Update do the work!

Sucky board that, I RMA'ed 4 of them, you really do need a good quality power supply for that board, defeating the purpose of buying a budget mobo, anyway the MOBO drivers on the CD are useless in win98, it uses win 98 plug & play drivers, as for the audio drivers you need to open the CD & run from there as the CD sometimes doesnt work. Are there any exclamation marks in system devices? if so try to re-install the drivers from there, if all else fails you can buy a PCI sound card that's as good for £10!

well at first i was kinda tricked by the nomenclature of the folders on the k7s5a drivers cd, becuz i figured the drivers would be in the "audio" folder, but its actually in the "codec" folder. have u tried there?
