Need help with new system build!!

Ok guys, I've just assembled the system in my sig. I haven't built a computer for several years now. I've updated the Biostar TA790GX A2+ mobo's BIOS to the latest one off the chinese site so it would recognize my Phenom II 920. So the problem is my BIOS won't recognize my WD SATA II Blue 500GB harddrive (I've also tried plugging in a PATA HD but for some reason both harddrives do not spin up on start up). Also, when I hit the eject button on my LG SATA burner the light just stays green but doesn't open. Any suggestions?? I'm really tearing out my hair here.

Well, your sig isn't visible, so that is a slight hindrance.

What are you AHCI settings in the BIOS?
How about other SATA settings?

What SATA port is the hard drive on, and what SATA port is the optical drive on?

There's an option "OnChip SATA Type" and default option is "Native IDE". Then I tried setting it to AHCI and now it says Disk Error, which I assume means that the harddrive is now turning on (I'm used to old harddrives being loud because I can't hear it spinning up). But now my main problem is my DVD drive. I hit eject button but the light just flashes and doesn't open. Any suggestions?

Turns out it was a bad power supply. Exchanged my Seasonic S12 650w for an Antec NeoPower 550w and all is well now. Thank you for your help!
