Hi.
I just got a new motherboard (Jetway J754GT3-P) that im running with a Sempron 64 3100+. The problem is i cannot seem to get it to post above 275mhz FSB. I am runnin 2x512mb sticks of PC3200 Gigaram at 2.5-4-4-8 with 2.65v. The funny thing is it posts and runs stable on Prime95 at 275mhz. I changed hypertransport to 1GHz but there are no adjustments for multiplyers so im not sure how its set. I updated bios and still get no adjustments for it. I am running the Vcore at 1.50v and ive increased it but still NO POST. The DFI i had before would post and run stable at 313mhz, 8x multi, 1.50 Vcore, and Ram at 2.5-3-3-6 timings. You maybe wondering why i went from DFI Lanparty to jetway LOL. I needed a micro atx board with PCI-E slot :)

Any help is greatly appreciated......

You're basically within spitting distance of the previous overclock.

Knowing the CPU can go higher, let's try taking EVERYTHING else out of the equation except for the motherboard. Lower RAM to 133, HT multiplier to 3X, keep voltages raised a bit and see if you can get 3MHz more HTT, to pretty much equal previous clocks. Now, your RAM may be a problem because at 166MHz setting you'll be running DDR463 and the RAM may not do that - though you can try with higher vDIMM and raising CAS latency to 3. The extra bandwidth may make up for the higher latency. Otherwise at 133MHz setting your RAM is underclocked to DDR371. I did that with my A64 2800+ Newcastle and didn't notice any lack of performance. You may even be able to lower latency to CAS 2 if your RAM can take it.

ok on my DFI i could only get the ram to 208mhz with the 2.5-3-3-6-1T timings but never needed to up voltage on them anything past that and it was a no go. I plan on gettin some PC4000 sometime soon so im not really worried bout runnin the ram to spec just yet. I dont have an HTT multiplyer setting, but it lists it in mhz like 200mhz, 400mhz, 600mhz, 800mhz, and 1GHz. i have those same settings for both NB->SB, and SB->NB. I have a setting under that but cant remember what it is lol but it reads either 16/16 or 8/8 not sure but ill post it when i relax timings. i have a LDT voltage and Northbridge voltage setting. 1.20 and 1.30 on the LDT and 1.25, 1.35, 1.45, and 1.55 on the northbridge. I will try to lower the ram to 133mhz and raise vDIMM and loosen timings. I might have maxed the board out tho cause it runs stable at 275 and just stops dead in its tracks at anything higher LOL.

OK got it to post at HTT 278, 9x multi, 133mhz divider, 1.525 Vcore, 2.75vDIMM, CAS 3.0-2-4-2-8-2T and the setting i didnt know was NB bus width up16 down16 or up8 down8. I still need some help getting the ram timings set. I think it might have possibly been that it wasnt gettin enough voltage. I'd like to try to get it to 2.5-3-3-6-1T if i can as i know it will run those speeds up to 208mhz and even with a 166mhz divider it will only be runnin around 185mhz which is still kinda low.

Post, Stable, passed prime95 8k small torture test, @ Htt 278, 9x multi, 1.47Vcore, Ram: 2.5-4-4-8-1T@2.75v 185mhz.Idle temp 28C Prime 95 load temp 50C with fresh AS5 so im hoping they drop a lil bit once it burns in. I'm loving this new board :D :D :D.............

Thanx for all the help Zap!
