Hi, I have recently purchased a gf2. I got the detonator drivers and all my games seem to be playing well. But, Everquest(please dont flame me about playing it) seems to have an error. The patch goes through except right before the game starts, it says a blank error. Please help me. I asked a GM on a server and he said that it might have to do with my motherboard....which i doubt. thanks! 🙂

Simple, delete all your old glide files =)

Search for glide.* and delete everything it pulls up.
Search for voodoo.* and delete everything it pulls up.
then search for 3dfx.* and delete everything it pulls up.

Re-run EQ and you're in. Had the same damn thing happen to me too. 🙂

lokan, I tried that already. I guess I should have said what i tried already. hehe. I deleted anything that has to do with 3dfx. All my other games work that use D3d or opengl. It's just evercrack that doesnt seem to be working...sigh. Maybe the GM was right about the motherboard...but I just dont get how my motherboard can be the problem. Hey Lokan, what motherboard do you have?

I've got a FIC SD-11 and Abit KA7 mainboard. Are you absolutely positive you searched for all three of those strings and deleted EVERYTHING that came up? Other than that, I'd try reinstalling video card drivers and/or DirectX. Also, after you deleted all the 3dfx.*, glide.*, and voodoo.*, did you try to reinstall EQ? That way your game won't be searching for Glide when trying to start up.

Yeah, I did all of them. OH! I just ran eq right now and it says the error is it cant find any 3d devices. Any help in that? I did reinstall right after i deleted all of the v3 related drivers.

Check your device manager and make sure you don't have any conflicts in there. Also, you might want to try running the tutorial to set the graphics card. Other than that I don't know, might want to call their tech support.
