It's the game, not your computer.... they're ironing out a lot of bugs currently. You get to be one of the first ones helping them do it. 😉

ahah as of now it looks that way, but its too late now since I uninstalled the v1.5 in my rage to find out the problem 🙁

Am I the only one getting this kind of lag? cause I know a few people that have the same problem, so it begs the question why would they release such crap in the final v1.6?

im on a dorm connection and im getting pretty bad lag sometimes.....(that bein like 150-200ish)
when i normally get like 30-90

i wonder if i should mess with the net settings....hrmmm

but if your having problem installing the thing go to fileplanent and get the full 379meg cs 1.6 and hl1.1.2 in one file

actually I did both... then I uninstalled and did it again... 🙁 soo sad!!!!

Edit: I have a dedicated line to my home and I never had problems in v1.5. I averaged a ping of 30-50 on most servers on the west coast, so I'm pretty sure its not my line.

also when I'm playing on v1.6 on steam it shows my ping at 40-100ish but its the spikes that happen every 3 on the dot or so.

has nothing to do with steam. it's the netcode of the game, not the 3rd party program you use to connect to the game...
