It's the game, not your computer.... they're ironing out a lot of bugs currently. You get to be one of the first ones helping them do it.

ahah as of now it looks that way, but its too late now since I uninstalled the v1.5 in my rage to find out the problem

Am I the only one getting this kind of lag? cause I know a few people that have the same problem, so it begs the question why would they release such crap in the final v1.6?

im on a dorm connection and im getting pretty bad lag sometimes.....(that bein like 150-200ish)
when i normally get like 30-90

i wonder if i should mess with the net settings....hrmmm

but if your having problem installing the thing go to fileplanent and get the full 379meg cs 1.6 and hl1.1.2 in one file

actually I did both... then I uninstalled and did it again... soo sad!!!!

Edit: I have a dedicated line to my home and I never had problems in v1.5. I averaged a ping of 30-50 on most servers on the west coast, so I'm pretty sure its not my line.

also when I'm playing on v1.6 on steam it shows my ping at 40-100ish but its the spikes that happen every 3 on the dot or so.

has nothing to do with steam. it's the netcode of the game, not the 3rd party program you use to connect to the game...
