Need Help with Multiple Monitors

At work I have a dell xeon workstation and it has a matrox quad card that works great for 4 monitors. Now we need another monitor or two on the same setup, so I tried installing a msi 6600gt in the pci-e slot for that. I could get the fifth monitor to come up, but it would only display 640x480 in 4 bit color and it would let me change the setting. If I changed the bios to have the pci card as the primary and pci-e as secondary, then I could get the 5th display to work at all. In both situations there was no problems with the matrox displays. Does anyone have any insight, or even any other suggestions for getting a 5th and 6th display to work with the limited expansion on the workstation. There is only one pci slot, and the maxtrox card uses that.

Blah. Is this a rackmount server or something?

Maybe try an ATI or Matrox PCIe card? You should be able to use both at once.

They aren't rackmounts. The software es use is supposedly dual threaded so we use dual xeon workstations, and I don't know why they only have one pci slot. I guess I will suggest getting a matrox card. Any thoughts on why the monitor would work, but the resolution settings are stuck? Thanks again.
