I just bought the MSI K8N Neo2 Platinum motherboard along with a Athlon 64 3000 939 Winnie.

So I setup my rig and everything seems to be a okay and I go to power it up. My system does powerup, but then I see absolutely nothing! All I see is a blank screen and I can't even make it to the BIOS settings. I look at my monitor to see if its on and I see that its in sleep mode waiting to receive a signal.

Also, I don't hear my hard drive booting like it usually does on startup. I just hear it powerup and that's it, no loading whatsoever. And I hear no beep that tells you that you've made it to the BIOS and memory testing screen, that I'm use to seeing.

Does anyone know what the problem is?

My rig:

Athlon 64 3000 /939 Winnie
Zalman CNPS7000-ALCu
ATI 9800 Pro
Maxtor 120GB harddrive
Samsung RAM (I think) 1 GB PC2100 bus speed
Soundblaster Audigy 2
Enermax 550W powersupply

That motherboard needs at least a certain BIOS revision to run a Winchester-core CPU. I'm told that the board's original BIOS revision is noted inside the front cover of the owner's manual, so take a look and see if it's there, and then look at MSI's site to see if it supports Winchester-core 90nm CPUs. I want to say 1.2 is the first revision to support 90nm, but I could be wrong on that

Did you install the D bracket? (the one with the 4 lights)
If so, can you tell us what the lights are doing when you turn it on?

Sounds like the FALSE START issue thats common on that mobo.

Have a look HERE
