Just bought this Teac mini-cd/MP3 player, and except for the skipping, it's great. The mp3s don't skip on my pc, nor do they skip on the mini-cd when playing on the computer. I had it just sitting on the floor, not even moving, and it skips constantly. Is this normal for mp3s on a portable player, or is the player just a piece of crap?
 
are you burning the cd's through winxp? if so, then you should download the latest patch from the windows update site. there is a known issue involving mp3 cd's burned through winxp and mp3 players. specifically, the issue involves skipping on home dvd players with mp3 capabilities.

you should also try burning the mp3 cd's at a lower speed for more reliability.
