Need help with MD3000I RAID

I need to configure Different RAID Levels on one DELL MD3000i SAN

I have purchased
3 X 146GB Drives, which i need to configure as RAID 5 and
2 X 500GB Drives, which i need to configure as RAID 1


Can anyone of you help me with this,

I'm assuming you're able to connect to the storage unit using the Dell software.

Click on the Configure tab. Choose create virtual disks. Select the un-configured space you want to configure.
Choose Manual, then the RAID level you want for the disk group. You'll need to then select the disks you want in the array. Make sure you choose the same type of disk.
Click Add to add the selected disks. You can click Calculate to see the capacity of the group your building. Then click Finish.

You'll then need to name your disk group and select the 'type' and allow your hosts.

You'll have to do this for each group you want.

Once you're done with that, you'll need to configure the hosts. Depending on the host you want to connect, I've found for Windows iSCSI connections, I add the target to the windows box first, then do an automatic configuration. It should find your windows box.

For VMWare, I manually add the iSCSI connector name to the Dell box.
