I have downloaded it 3 times and have burnt it as a ISO, it will not boot, I have tried it in 4 machines and 6 cd rom drives.
On the KNOPPIX site it says to make a boot floppy from a file on the CD but I cannot acess any files on the ISO that I have burnt. If I open a DOS window and look at the directory it only shows the KNOPPIX.iso. and no included files.
All of the cdrom drives that I have tried will all boot a Windows install CD. The first download was done with IE5 and the advice I got was to use a ftp download manager so I used Vampire to download the other 2, they are all from different mirror sites. I cannot seem to find the bootloader anywhere on the KNOPIX site or on any of the mirrors. The only odd thing is that when I burned the ISO I got a pop up window stating the CD did not have enough room unless it closed the CD and I did that, I also did a file verification when I burned it. I am using a LiteOn burner 32x12x40 and the Nero that came bundled with the recorder. I also burnt it with my acer burner using Ner0 5, but neither helped
Sure could use some help here I would like to try it out.

Mine works just fine!
Make sure that your computer can bootup from CD, test you rig with other bootable CD i.e. Win 2000 or other linux distro, like Mandrake. If they can boot, load then you have a problem...

Edit: Doh... Ther is something goin on with you CDRW. I downloaded my Knoppix ISO using IE and I have no problems whatsoever.
Works for my laptop and desktop. Weird....

Edit: I had this same message (about closing the CD) when burning the ISO in Nero... But that is normal I think, the CD is more than the standart 650 Mb and that is why Nero is bitching, it thinks that you are using the regular CD (overburning tech)
