NEED help with HP LaserJet 2100

Hi,

I have a HP LaserJet 2100 that was working fine.. until one day it just stopped working... period.

It wont even warm up. The light (one with the triangle around the exclamation mark) will just blink red.

I have tried changing the toner and different computers. but since it wont even warm up... its hard to test..

anyone know what that red light is?

Thanks in advance

According to the 2100 manual it?s either

1) Door Open
2) Toner Cartridge Missing
3) Paper Jam

We have 2 2100?s at work and it?s been my experience that it?s usually a small piece of paper that got torn off and is sitting somewhere in the paper path. Sometimes they are very hard to find. There are other things that it could be but from what you describe the paper jam is the most likely cause of red blinking light and no warm up.

Be careful when taking out a paper jam. This girl just ripped the sheet of paper out at the place that I used to work at and it cost the company $70 to fix it. Just slowly pull it out according to the instructions right under the toner.
