what type of files support it?
which video players support it?
can someone post step by step instructions to enable it?

while i have no problem playing these files on my quad core desktop (i'm not sure if im actually getting hardware acceleration on the desktop), I have tried everything to get these files to play smoothly on my laptops. I think i'm doing something wrong. Stuff i've found on google searches always say something that doesnt work

thanks!

What sort of GPU are these laptops using? If they're Intel integrated, then you won't get decent 1080p acceleration. HD and uncompressed SD (30mbps) play fine on my laptop.

You can alternatively try VLC, which uses strait OpenGL acceleration for all video.
