need help with formatting second hd

i have a second hd installed as a primary slave. my primary is NTFS while the second is FAT32, so i want to change that. when i enter dos and put format f:\ (the second hd) i get a message saying invalid drive... what do i do??

I am assuming you have 2000 or XP. Go to control panel-->Admin Tools --> Computer Management
Under there select disk management.
You should be able to partition and format the drive using this tool. Don't bother with fdisk. I'm looking this up on XP Pro, but you should have the disk management in a similar place on 2000.
