I need to buy an HSF for a Duron 600/Abit KT7. The case has a fan shroud over the CPU that could get in the way of aa tall HSF. Any suggestions? I was looking at the Tai Sol CEK733092, GlobalWin FOP32, or Alpha PAL6035 (if I can find one)

My temp with the stock HSF is 33/23 degrees @600mhz and 48/25 degrees @900mhz. BTW, this has been a great case.

I haven't had any probs with a fop32 on the fong kai at all. Works great actually, is keep my 600@1000 cooled to 36 idling. All i've got is the 120mm intake, and 80mm exhaust, my temp should go even more down when i get the 7000 rpm fan for my fop32 which was supposed to be a fop38! I'm not really sure how much room is in there, but it fits for sure. Hope i helped.

That is a big help. I didn't want to buy something that wouldn't fit. Did you try the HSf that came with the Duron?

Um, didn't get hsf with my 600, just bought the fop32 instead of the original, so sorry, wouldn't know. But i just changed my voltage to 1.7, and been running my computer for about 2 to 3 hours now browsing, and at 1000 it's staying at about 37 to 38, so the fop32 does a pretty good job i'd say, especially with the thermal pad instead of artic silver, or thermal grease, or the such. I'll tell you how the 38 goes when it gets here.

I have the FK 320 and FOP38. I found that the duct over the CPU actually hinders cooling. If you have the back fan blowing out (as recommened), the duct draws air away from the CPU fan and therefore cuts down on cooling. If you have the fan blowing in, then hot air has no where to go. I found that removing the duct completely provided the best CPU cooling for me.

I was afraid I'd hear something bad about the duct. I got the front fan and reversed the rear (to blow out)so air would flow from front to back. Somewhere I saw a recommendation to have the fan on a HSF combo to blow air away from the CPU which would direct it towards the duct. I think the stock HSF blows towards the CPU. This is probably all overkill anyway - I can't boot faster than 900mhz.
