Need help with fan controller.... can't actually control fan!

Hi, ok I recently bought a fan controller and I thought it would be pretty simple. I put the fan controlling plug into the fan controller 1 socket. The fan is connected to a 12 V lead. Simple right? Well when I go to fan 1 on the fan controller, it doesn't matter if I move it down to the lowest speed or the highest speed, the fan does not actually change... am I doing something wrong?

What fan controller do you use, and are you sure it's not slowing the fan down at all?

It's a sunbeam windmill and I am positive it isn't slowing it down at all

Hmm, have you read the manual, that one looks more complicated than the average fan controller.

I think I know why- it's because it only supports 10W per channel and my fans are really powerful
