Just purchased this mobo, and it wont boot up, No video! It tries to boot up monitor, but no dice. Have replaced the power supply, the ram, the video card. And have reseated the cpu. Any suggestions. Using a 1.2 duron, with gainward gf2 64 meg sdram, crucial 256 ddr. thermaltake volcano 6cu+ cpu fan.

The only boot up problems I've had with this board was due to a non-amd power supply. If you have and AMD approved power supply (at least 300w), and you have checked your cables, and made sure your video card is seated and it still won't boot, you may have to RMA it.

I have read in numerous posts of this problem. You might have to seat the video card a half dozen times or more because of the tightness of the slots. I have also noticed that most people with video problems are using an ATI video card. I'm not sure if this helps but good luck and don't give up. It really is a nice board. (Once it is up and running)

Could you elaborate? Do you get any beeps? Do the fans spin up? Here's a basic troubleshooting guide link that will help you narrow down the possible problems, do as much of what it suggests as you can, especially the shorting issue as I've seen a good number of post over the last 6 months from users who thought the board was DOA but then could make it boot outside of the case. Let us know how your getting on.

Yes the fans do spin up. But i have no beep. I have taken everything out of the case and assembled it on some foam. Still nothing. You can tell that the monitor is trying to boot up, but that is it. I have reseated the vid card several times?

Make sure the mobo is grounded properly with the standoffs.. built a K7S5A system.. after a few hours finally figured out it wasn't grounded well and it posted fine after all the standoffs had been replaced with equal, slightly taller brass ones.. I have heard this issue before about the grounding so don't laugh, it might be your problem! I had other issues too cause it's a flakey board, but that was my no post issue resolution.

I have put several systems together using the ECS K7S5A. The boards came w/ the CMOS jumper set
to pins 1-2 which clears the CMOS memory. For the system to boot the jumpers must be set to pins 2-3.
You might have already tried this. I just wanted to relate my experience.
I have had no big problems with these boards, they are very stable.
