Need help with divxs....downloaded.

I downloaded a two set divx of a home movie of a friend and they don't work all they do is show a black screen and no sound. They were put together about 450 megs and I don't want to have to download them again, not with my dial up connection. Is there anything I have to do special to view them, I have tried a lot of things. I downloaded the divx codecs, I used several diffrent programs (Media Player, the Playa, etc.), I renamed the file, but nothing works. Please Help!
 
Ask ur friend which CODEC did he used to convert. Most likely in circulations are 2 codecs, DivX3.11 and SMR. re-install both (doesn't hurt).

Also, download DIVFIX.EXE
it fixes broken divX movies. Any thing intresting in those home videos? Give me a shout, running out of things to download of the net.
