hey all. i am on a large novell network here at work with decent inet speeds. i get the average of T1 access. i need to dial out to connect to remote servers and things of the sort...but...when i dial out, my IE uses my dial out connection and not the default network proxy! this is bad..i cant stand this kind of access. so if anyone know how i can make IE use the network, im all ears...
thanks 🙂

You need to adjust the routing on your PC. When windows establishes a PPP dialup connection, it prefers the new gateway route over any existing default route. Remove the new default route. Enter explicit routes for the remote network(s) to which you are dialing. The old default route will be assigned a metric of 2 instead of 1, but it will work if you get rid of the dialup route inserted by the PPP connection. Good luck!

hmmmm...i dont have all the info of the dial up. all i get is the ip addy gateway and subnet. someone was telling me something about load balancing??
thanks for the reply
