I need some help with a debate topic. I can debate fine the topic though is a tuffy for me right now. Maybe its the 20 page paper i"m writing that I can't think of it right now.

We don't know what side were doing until that day.

topic: equal rights amendment.

ie. Discrimination on the basis of sex is prohibited in the US.

what i started to do was write down issues and think of both sides.

example. well this the only thing I've come up with .

Income: Its necessary as women make less then men.
I'm not sure of a reasonable counter to that is. I was thinking women expect men to shower them with gifts. but that just sounds too stupid.

I'm know there's alot more things out there that favor one sex over the other. but my brain doesn't want to work right now. any other day I know I can come up with stuff.

any help would do.

women get to have maternity leave?

dunno some people think that that's like a fundamental right or something, but it's discrimination if you ask me.

Women have a statistically higher probability of leaving the job sooner than men due to maternatity leave etc..?

There have been studies that show that single women make the same as single men. It's only when they get married that they start to diverge. Note that this is true even for childless women. The real inequality is inside the home, where women still do the majority of the work.

that's not really discrimination though (inside the home)

You might find what you're looking for here.

IMO it's unnecessary, and that's exactly why it hasn't been ratified the required 38 states.
