im looking for a new case and need to know what is the difference between power supplys. i see that some say p4 ready and does that mean they are not useable for amd? and what is the 12v meaning. im looking for an atx case and it says atx+12v. i need a case for an amd but may switch to p4. how do i determine if a case/power supply can swing both ways. thanks for you help in advance.

I think that the p4 compatibility indicates a 4 pin, non-molex connector. You can check the AMD compatibility list but nearly all newer psu's are dual compatible.
