Ok, I'm Wanting To Upgrade My CPU/Motherboard Combo In My System. Currently I Have An Intel P-3 1GHz/ASUS CUSL-C w/512MB SDRAM. I Will Be Moving My Old Combo To My Wife's PC. I Want To Go With AMD. I'm Looking At A 1.4GHz CPU And An ASUS A7M266 Motherboard. The Prices On The AMD CPU's Are Great...... I Found A 1.4GHz Retail For $128. I'm Not Big On Overclocking.

One Question I Have Is What Is The Best DDR Ram To Get For It?

And Is It Worth Getting A DDR System Instead Of A SDRAM System?

Is The ASUS A7M266 Motherboard The Best To Get For DDR Support?

I second the vote for crucial ram and with ram prices as they are now (pc133 and pc2100ddr ram are the same price) why not go w/ DDR?

Can't really talk about the motherboard since I dont have it, but the SiS735 chipset is supposed to be a pretty good chipset for athlons and it's very cheap. I'd look into a board w/ that chipset instead since it performs better and is cheaper supposedly.

Check out this article for a comparison of chipsets for athlons: link
