IB = International Baccalaureate (try spelling that :p) www.ibo.org.

It's a diploma "programme" (They spell British) where you do six subjects and an intro philosophy thing to tie the fields together, and you test out of each subject with orals, internal projects, labs, tests, etc. It's really easy in our school.

Show a movie instead (GATTACA) and I wouldn't recommend making a presentation on a 'Star Wars roleplaying game' especially in front of your 17-18 year old peers.

Most people fear public speaking more than death.

So for most people if they are at a funeral they would rather be in the casket than giving the eulogy;)

my school does not offer any "IB" classes but does however offer a ton of AP classes....
After taking a arseload of AP classes this( junior ) year, I ahve discovered that these classes really in no way are doing more to prepare me for college than a normal unweighted class, but everyone keeps calling them "college-like" classes...

Anyways I'm just curious how this "IB" program measures up against AP classes as far as how challenging it is and how well it prepares you for college.

"Public Speaking Anxiety, How People Cope"

I have read many sources and it always says to picture yourself wearing nothing but socks, but that really didn't work for me. etc, etc, etc.

Probably because the teacher was also picturing you wearing nothing but socks. :Q
How do you think I got the A?

IB is potentially more challenging. It is more college preparatory geared rather than just testing you on content for credit.

It is excellent for college and people who have graduatd with the diploma at our school come back with good testimonies on how college is a lot easier for them when compared to their peers.

IB is a challenging experience if you want the entire diploma. Otherwise it is relatively easy since you only need to take a few or no IB classes.

Our school is really easy no matter what. And it's probably S. Fla's #1 HS too. I know freshman honors english was far worse than IB English 3 this year, sophomore world history was worse than IB American History too, and in IB Psych, we only have like 10 hrs HW per semester. We just walk into the test with a tad bit of preparation and expect to get 6's or 7's (out of 7) on the tests. On internal assessments, I got 17 of 20 on my psych lab (a 7) and a 19 of 20 on the math portfolios. Homework is minimal too.

AP Chem last year was much worse, as was AP Calc BC. But then again, AP Physics B here is easy too....eithe IB or AP the class difficulty seems school related; some schools are inherently harder than others.

My subject has been found: I will talk about Counter-Strike! If the people in my class don't like Counter-Strike, they can go **** themselves because their orals sucked and were boring also. Some girl talked about monkeys. WTF? Some other girl talked about some weird movie no one knows... Some other girl talked about gods...

unless you go to a school where cs is played a lot you will bore many people including the teacher

1 piece of advice... if you don't know what to talk about, take the opportunity to suck up to the teacher by talking about something that he/she really likes... do your research though

I know! Could you do a report on the world of Fan Fiction? Could be Star Wars, could be someone's favorite computer game, whatever. The world of fan fiction has always fascinated me...
