Need help with an Intel PIII motherboard (oem I think)

Hi All,

I bought a motherboard Intel SE440BX on this board. It came in and it has the regular ATX connector and also
like a single 6 pin connector like on an AT board (where there are 2 of them).

I hooked up the standard atx power plug but when I closed the power on jumper not a sound of anything.
I'm guessing that the 6 pin connector has to have a power plug to it. Do they make an adapter to convert
from a power connector for a hard drive or cdrom to this 6 pin connector?

Here are some numbers on the board.00025319-12464-923-00JV AA 696071-408

It has onboard sound.

I've owned several Intel motherboards and never seen this connector. I'm guessing it is oem made for
someone like Micron or Gateway or Dell.

Any help is appreciated very much!

Thanks,
Jim

It sounds like it is probably a Dell. To be sure, you can compare it to the info on this page(scroll to the bottom for detailed specs of the different boards). They do make a power supply adapter to let you use a regular power supply with the Dell motherboard(if it is a Dell) and it is available from Here(dell adapter is ~$10+S&H and listed in the OEM Replacement category). Here is a pic of the adapter.

EDIT: BTW, if it is a Dell, the ATX connector on the motherboard is wired differently from a regular ATX connector(info is on the site I have linked above).

Thanks very much for the info.....You are EXACTLY right. I found
out after posting that it did come out of a Dell system but
didn't have a clue where to find the converter!

Thanks,
Jim
