My motherboard recognizes my A: Drive, but can't read the disk. I have replace the drive cable, tried 3 A: drives and still nothing. It just says "Please insert disk" when there is one in there. I need to flash my bios. If anyone has any idea as to what might be the problem, I would appreciate it. If anyone could tell me in detail how to flash your bios without a floppy disc I would be most gratefull. Thanks :)

Does the floppy drive light stay on? I'm thinking cable is not hooked up properly.

If the light is on constantly, the cable is not on right. It is also possible to make a bootable cd from win98 files that will appear as the A: drive when you boot. Including the flash utility and new bios on the cd will allow you to flash the bios.

he didnt say it was on constantly... i think the floppy drive is bad, pull one out of another computer, or pick one up at a used parts place, shouldnt cost ya more than $10...
