Could I get some advice on reformatting and starting over.

I have a Gateway desktop that is abit over 2 years old. It is running a AMD 650mhz win 98 and 512mb pc133 sdram.

I have been having performace problems for about 4 months and they seem to be getting worse.

I do have some business related e-mails and other files that I want to definately save and the total size of these is about 2 gig.(mind you these are not all e-mails hehe)

I want to find a program that will let me backup to CD and prompt me to insert a new CD when it gets full.

Also when this is done would it be advisable to use the system restore disk from gateway or just install Win 98. Or would it be worthwhile to upgrade op systems while I am at it.

Thanks in advance for help offered

ADDED I tried Nero's Burn HD but it says something about partitions ...( I don't really want to back up the entire OP system and such anyway.

try nti backup, they have a trial version at www.store.verbatimcorp.com

I would format the hdd and reinstall windows if you know all of the parts you have, otherwise I would use the restore cd so you don't have to mess with drivers.
