So my girlfriend is going away to school for a year. I was thinking that if we both had small digital cams we could carry them around and take pics of our day and email them to each other, not as good as actually being together but I'll take what I can get. I'm looking for something small like an elph but that might be kinda pricey, I was thinking maybe ~$150. Is there any small cameras in that range or am I SOL. Any help would be appreciated.

I'd avoid the 1.3 MP cams and go straight to 2MP it seems almost everyone outgrows them veryfast not to mention 2MP usually have better features for the most part.

For a little more ($50), you can get the Canon A60 (Buydig.com). Even though you mentioned you wanted to stay in the $150 price range, this camera offers a lot more. Additionally: it uses CF instead of Fuji's proprietary xD media and has a metal body.

Here is a side by side comparison of the Canon and Fuji cameras.

Yep, a friend has one and I'm amazed at the pics it takes for a mere $150 digicam :)

I bought one off this forum before. If I were you, try checking out newegg.com, and uhm, ...Byteware has a few of these cams too. Other than that I really don't know where you can go without being raped on shipping.

Wow - I looked at the pictures in the link in your first post.
I would be very happy with that quality from a 2 MP camera for $150.

Nikon Coolpix 2100 - it's relatively inexpensive, and makes great pics. I just got one and am quite pleased with it.
