I am having artifacts on bootup on a brand new 7800 GT CO. I plug everything in and it has 26A on the 12v but for some reason it shows artifacts without even overclocking, first time boot up to.

Is the video card bad or is it my power supply? I am waiting on my 600W S12 Seasonic to come in to test but all my other video card never ever artifact on bootup. Also, it crashes in windows about 15 mins in windows but it doesn't have artifacts once windows load up though. I just don't know what is the problem. This is my RMA card since the first one I had, was shipped with a broken off capacitor. This card was brand new to, I just don't understand. Should I RMA it again, or is it a bios or driver error? Need HELP, Thanks!

My specs:

DFI LanParty Ultra D & Asus A8N-Sli Premium < Happens on both
Opteron 146 2.0 Ghz
2x512 G Skills F1 LE
250gb SATA2 WD
LiteOn DVD Burner
Antec SmartPower 350 & Enermax 350W
Evga 7800 GT CO N16

This happens frequently due to the geometry delta clock found in *some*, not all EVGA 7800GTs.

If you go to evga's website and go the forum, there should be a sticky at the top with a BIOS update that removes the geometry delta clock from your video card's BIOS.

Good luck!

Well I did flash a new bios but it still does this. After reading the EVGA forums, I believe it has to be faulty ram since nothing else in the system is defective.

I cant even get into windows or anything. I can't install a new windows either. I don't think it is heat, since it is a brand new card

Don't say it just because it's a brand new card. New cards can have problems too. Try reseating the HS. It's worth a shot right???? What do you have to loose??

Try and reseat, EVGA allows you to remove the HSF and not void your warranty.

After that, RMA.

So you reseated it right? You know how to do it?
(just making sure)

Other than that, I guess it might actually be RMA time, unless someone can think of another problem? (mobo?)
