Basically, I have a 2 router setup because I had an extra linksys wrt54g laying around and no hub or switch. 2 Computers are connected to the main router (192.168.1.1) and 2 to the 2nd router (192.168.1.2). The computers can talk to each other and the main router, but i can't see the 2nd router. No luck pinging the ip.

Ive disabled dhcp, firewall, and i have this 2nd router connected through a lan port to the main router. Im physically connected to this 2nd router as well. I need help to see this router.

and no hub or switch.
main router (192.168.1.1) and 2 to the 2nd router (192.168.1.2).

here is your problem. Your not using the second device as a switch, which is what you should be using it as. Do not use the WAN port (uplink the switch on the second device) and disable DHCP on that one as well. Ta-da. your done

Hey thanks for the reply guys, I kinda lost track of this post, but still have the same problem.

My second router is already connected through the lan port (lan port1 on 192.168.1.1 to lan port1 on 192.168.1.2) and I have two computers connected to this 2nd router. They can see each other and the main router (192.168.1.1) but not the one they are directly connected to! DHCP is also disabled so only the main router is assigning IPs (but ive set up static IPs on all computers anyway.)

Now...I can access the 2nd router's config page only when I connect the 2nd router using the WAN port (LAN port 1 on main to WAN port on second) and only when using a computer physically connected to the 1st router. This is really confusing. So whenever I need to set anything up on this 2nd router, I unplug the ethernet from port1, connect it to WAN, run downstairs to a computer connected to the 1st router, then type in 192.168.1.2 in the browser and I can connect.

So obviously something is wrong here. When I reconnect it to the lan port, my computers upstairs now have internet/network access but pinging 192.168.1.2 just results in a timeout and i cant access through telnet or a browser...and Im physically connected to it! I'm using 192.168.1.1 as the gateway..is that the problem?

Thanks again
