need help!!! windows are lagging

hey guys

i just installed XP pro and was wondering what software should I install like

direct x
graphic card drivers
audio drivers ect.

but my windows are still lagging a little. its not just perfect. when i move the windows from side to side i can see a small lag

what should i do? any upgrades?

sorry not exactly sure. this is my dads computer he got it from best buy windows was already installed. so i have no idea what chipset it is but its a

AMD Athlon(m) XP 3100+

its a HP machine
 
I got it thank you

I upgraded the Video Driver from Windows Update site

also installed .net framework

and its works fine
