Hi all , to be exact . I have problem with my wifi card . Recently hard to connect( sometimes connect and sometimes not ) .Sometimes it show up " no connection " . I have wifi router at home and no problem with it . what i want to ask is how do i get an acer Npilfy 802.11 wirelless card working ? That's my wifi card type

Thanks for the help and sorry for the bad english

For more accurate help you need to post your hardware specs and operating system version. Your wireless card uses a Broadcom chipset and you probably have the wrong driver installed. Download (see red arrow in pic below) the Broadcom LAN Driver 12.2.1.1 for Win7 and install it. The Nplify 802.11 b/g/n wireless card is installed in many Acer notebooks; so this driver will probably work.

If this driver version isn't what you need, go to the Acer Drivers and Manuals webpage and select the Broadcom driver for your exact model and operating system.

Thanks for the help ! I'm using acer aspire 5552G - 5828

I did check carefully, so i find out that the problem is on the wireless adaptor. The wireless light is on but wouldn't connect anything . Anyone can help me to solve that?

Thanks alot

If the new driver didn't fix anything try this; open Device Manager and in the View menu select Show hidden devices. Locate your wireless adapter, right-click on it, then select uninstall and click OK.

Close Device Manager and shutdown your laptop. Here's the link for the Aspire 5552G Service Guide. Go to page 65 of 260 (chapter 3, page 55) where it describes removing the lower case covers and then goes on to show how to remove the WLAN Module (wireless card). Disconnect both antenna cables, remove the card, carefully inspect for dirt or damage, then carefully reseat the card and reconnect both antenna cables. Reassemble the case covers, reinstall the battery pack and start the laptop.

When Windows boots to the desktop it will detect new hardware and attempt to install the driver for the wireless card. The driver installation will probably fail because Windows won't have a suitable driver available. Now reinstall the Broadcom driver you downloaded and test if you can connect.

Hello , I did everything that you said , but still nothing happened , It was connected but dc after 15 min or so , seem like the adaptor Have problem or crash? seems like i need to get new one !

Does your WiFi card support N? If so, try disabling N so that it forces the card to use G. Web browsing usually isn't impacted very much, though network file transfers could. I've seen a few times where for whatever reason notebook WiFi cards had issues until N was disabled (or Bluetooth if card supports it).

I'm not sure if I understand correctly. Does the WIFI card work with you router or not? Does it work at hotspots with no problem? Try changing the WIFI channel in the router.

The hotspots have no problem . I think the problem is my Wireless adaptor . always disconnected itself

Well if the hotspots give you no trouble then the problem lies in your router. Do you have the latest firmware for your router? What is the type of router you have? Plus, are you using encryption?
