Well I my main file server run amd 620 and then my everyday workstation run amd 710 with the 4th core unlocked and overclock to 3 ghz. The 620 runs at stock speed because it is just file server/media center box. However I do video converts from .wtv -.dvix about every 3 months. The amd 710 is faster both machines run the same motherboard. To be honest amd 710 box has disadvantage it hard drives are very old 120 gb sata 1 and 80 gb ide from when ever that was latest and greatest. The 620 run all new hard drives that are under 1.5 years old.

If you have to get everything from newegg you'll be ok with this ~> http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16835103064

People say it's huge but @ twenty bucks with copper piping its a good deal. My V1 has a 110mm fan and it fits fine in my mid tower.

My video card of choice ~> http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814102824. Anything less and you'll be jumping down to 128bit ddr3 and shorting yourself 400 stream processing units. I took some dough off the cooler and added it to the video card.

Whoa thank you for steering me in the right direction on the video card the 256bit vs the 128bit. I see that card also won the best video card for $100.00 award per Tomshardware. So this will be my choice of video card in that price range unless there is a better choice I don't know of due to if any recent price drops.

totally depends on your primary usage, I have the 620 on my spare machine and its great but gets little use really

I'd probably say go for the X3 with your description of what you do and with a black edition you can get the speed up a bit as well as have the L3

I read reviews saying that this one is pretty good. I can't comment on it from my personnal experience though.

This is actually a good cooler but the way it sits on the cpu, you should have an exhaust fan on top of the case for max efficiency as it blows hot air toward the top. I have an azza helios case at my x2 555 @ 3.8 idles at 25 C.

But expect higher temps for 3 and 4 core processors.

An alternative to this Freezer 64 pro http://www.newegg.com/product/produc...82E16835185125, basically the same cooler but blows air towards the rear.

P.S If you have heat spreaders on your RAM it "may" block the first slot. I had this issue and now using slots 2 and 3 :( for gigabyte 790gpt-ud3h and G.Skill ripjaw series combo.

Ok I found a better (HOT) combo deal I just picked up a AMD Phenom II X4 2.8 925 & Biostar TA 790 GX A3+ for $129.00 AR from frys.

I am going to get pick up some ram temporary locally (then return) to test the board tonight all goes well I will be ordering the Sappaire 4850 suggested by BD231 and better Ram from Newegg. Any suggestions on which ram (DDR- 1333) I should order from Newegg looking to only go 4gb max?

Thanks

I am thinking of this ram and which is also approved for my Biostar 790 GX MB on G Skill site.
