Need help w/ good timings for 512MB (333) OCING

ok i need a set of good timings for ram its 512 value $hit.
(kingston value)

i got v to like 2.75 or 2.6 ive been ocing cpu
but i think my ram is causing crashes in bf2 only oced to 182 fsb from 166
do u think i could oc more if i had better timings

as it is now
FREQUENCY 180.9
CAS:2.5
RAS to CAS:3
RAS: 3
CYCLE TIME:8

What is 3000's base multiplier and fsb? well 333 is fsb now

should i bump it up to 7 on multi?
340x7=2380

I dare you to get the bus speed to 340 (to get 340x7) on an Athlon XP, and then prime it and take screenshot.

Hmm....you might like to give us more details before anyone can help you...but lemme give this a shot....
By 3000 i'm assuming you mean an Athlon XP 3000+, which i believe has a 166mhz FSB, which would mean a 13x multi to get 2158mhz (~2.16ghz). Ideally, increasing the multi to 15-16 would be the easiest way, otherwise slowly up the FSB til you reach your goal.

Yup, increasing the multi. would be easiest way.

What I'd do is get the bus speed as close to 200 as you can get it (so that FSB=400ish) then start ramping up the multiplyers.

14 would only be like 2.3 and 14.5 would be 2.4 a lil over estimated range

how much should i up the voltage on cpu?

any v on the ram of course change to the fsb?(dont want to mess with timings yet)

chipset v maybe?



i know i sounded stupid at first but idk what was wrong w. me at the time so please forgive me!

i think i might put some fresh thermal grease and clean bottom of hsf before oc yet!

will have busy day tommorow thnx for the info that i kind of knew but werent sure of at the time!

All depends on cooling, but 1.75Vcore is a starting point (moving to 1.85Vcore if you're happy your cooling can handle the all the extra heat output).

2.6 or 2.7Vdimm should be okay for the RAM, but if you are increasing the FSB don't forget to use a divider for your RAM so that it isn't being overclocked beyond its spec (to be safe, underclock your RAM while testing your CPU's limits).

Chipset voltage shouldn't need adjusting unless you are stressing the memory controller (high FSB/high mem speed/more than 2 DIMMs).

i couldnt change multis i guess it is locked but i got it at 175x13 and 2.6 for ram and cpu at 1.75

it is running like silk!
plus i used clock (had to be careful with that word) gen form cpuid.com to soft oc a lil more since i couldnt change multi

but fsb right now is183 w/ help of clock gen so ill change that in bios to like 185! the reason why my old board couldnt oc much was i didnt have voltage option like i do now!

so i guess there is room for improvement its <47 at idle and <54 at full

i upped ram voltage the 185 x 13 was crashing in bf2
i upped ram to like 2.75 and put turbo for timings
i think i need better ram or something

the cpu is not going past 50 for somereason

plz i need suggestions
