need help w/ edonkey....

alright.. im new to edonkey and am having trouble connecting to a server on it.. i have
this list of servers... i dunno if im supposed to connect through proxy server or what, i dont know anything about that.. but i am on a LAN in my house behind a netgear RT314 router... which could mean i have to connect through proxy server but like i said, im clueless on this stuff so if somebody can help me out lemme know.. thanks... i know info here might be sorta vague but i can provide more info if needed...
 
Well I have used edonkey2000 a couple of times and because of the problem you posted (unable to get into the servers) I have simply stopped using it. If you just let it auto connect, after a while you'll get into a server but with 100 people sharing short of nothing. To get into a good server, repeated tries was necessary and it wasn't worth the time. It's ok for movies but absolutely garbage for music. Haven't tried to get programs but I just dont like the way it handles downloads.

I am behind a router as well (Linksys) and have had no direct problems from it. Try waiting a while after you click "connect".
 
i have edonkey and rt314 router. you do not need to use proxy server.

btw, does anyone have a list of US servers?
 
i sat there and let it try to connect to servers for a few hours and did not connect to a single one.. i installed it and have been trying to connect since about noon today, EST.... grrrrrr

you must have sucky list of servers... if nobody posts a US server list here, i will give you my server list. i have pretty decent one but most of them are not US i believe
