Need help (w/ CDRW)

Okay, here's my problem

CDRW worked fine for a long while which is Scsi Sony CRX140s 8x4x32x runnin on Advansys 3490 (or 3940 can't remember correctly) UW card.

Recently i used all of my TDK discks so i went out and bought Digital Research (were on sale) 80 minute and they didn't work. Cdrwin made coasters.
My first reaction was: bad cds or incompatible w/ cdrw, so i go to bestbuy and xchange em for Verbatium spindle... Coasters again.
I try different version of CDRW< different ASPI drivers, nothing works, installed EZ CD Creator, gives me buffer underrun on lead out (?).

BUT Windows XP burn thing & media player works! (again, WTF!)
This is just weird, 1 thing works, other doesn't and nothing seems to help it.

Also recently, i installed new via drivers, that were giving me BSoDs on cold boot (had to do chkdsk in restore), caused disc corruption it seems so i uninstalled em. (After the coasters)

Any ideas?

i dunno if this is a viable option, but i had a similar problem before... plus i had to format...

after i reinstalled windows. the cdr worked fine...

I didn't try updating firmware since i didn't have time in the morning but is there anything else I can do to fix it w/o reformating?

also downloaded sony check.. it wrote files on CDR than compared em to the ones on harddrive and passed the test.

ok, did Advansys update (firmware), didn't help. I don't think the cdrw is updatable (got 1.0e firmware now) couldn't find a newer version.
