Need help using Android music player **edit** This thread is now about Rockon

How do I make a playlist? I have a couple audio books downloaded and when I play them, the tracks don't play in order. I've tried going in through (Linda) file manager and also just using the music player.

I'm sure I'm missing something stupid....help me!!!

Go to the album, artist, or track listing screen and long press on any item to bring up a context menu. One of the options is "add to playlist". Select this and then choose "New". Once you have the playlist set up you can add tracks using the same method, and then you can go to the playlist tab, open it up, and drag and drop to set the play order.

no....details?

If you read the info on Rockon, the guy mentions discontinuing development on it and working on 3 (a mistake in my opinion). It uses a 3d cube for navigating through your albums.

It says he's going to pull Rockon from the market in a few months, so back it up if you like it.

edit: I suppose I'm judging it prematurely as it is still a work in progress and I haven't played with it a whole lot.

I tried Rock on. I couldn't figure out how to switch albums. I accidentally hit an album in the first menu and when I hit back it just kept exiting the program instead of going to the list of albums.

On a related note, does anyone know of an application that lets me manage my music instead of the application organizing it? I'd like to browse through my own created music folders to find stuff I want to listen to.

Does Linda file manager let you select and play some or all of the music in a particular folder? I don't need a file manager just for managing files so to speak, I just want to access and listen to my music through the folders that I set up.

3 seems neat but it won't read my embedded album art, which I am slightly obsessive about. Anyone else getting that part of it to work?

Who usually embeds album art? Amazon?

I have it checked to use embedded, but I know it downloaded some. Not sure.

I really like the wall view.

Amazon does embed it, I think, but for my files I generally embed it myself using a tagging program (MP3Tag). The stock music player reads the art fine as do most desktop apps like Windows Media Player and Media Monkey. However, several of the music apps I have downloaded don't see it for some reason.

I finally found 3

Its awsome! Except the fact that the icon is too flippin small. I have a screen that I use while driving...now way I am going to be able to find that thing

Get BetterCut. It sort of sucks paying for an app to customize icons (something that should have been built in I think). The guy should have gone with a cube looking thing with a 3 in there or something.
