As far as limit I mainly just want to spend the least I can with ahving a computer that can handle planetside 2 to its full potential. For $355 that is definitely lower than what I was expecting to spend and seems to be the best route so far

Microcenter is the Cheapest as far as intel + z68/z77 ANYWHERE. If you can drive there, then do it.

it's not $355 total.

$355 for 2500k cpu and Asus Max V.
$56 for 1866mhz cl9 ddr3.

High memory frequency often helps mmo games

Sony said they're aiming to run the game on 4year old hardware. This probably means lack of optimization for quad cores and hyperthreading.

i5 over i7 is a safe bet in my opinion.

Now, Nvidia Physx. which ps2 will support.

If you want the physx eye candy, you're gonna have to sell your 6950 for an nvidia.

DO NOT do the hybrid build where you have an ATI gfx card, and an nvidia physx card. This is more trouble than it's worth. 🙁 I had this a while back, Super regret.

If you can wait till planet side 2 actually comes out, the low prices arn't going no where. LOL😀

but, yea, you'll be needing a GTX670 SLI if you want to do the physx and popin' graphics. 😀

Physx is largely a gimmick. Certainly not worth buying a new card for if you already have a decent one and you don't need SLI for it either.

Check the "form factor" MATX or ATX. If your current case is ATX you'll be fine w/ any mobo that was listed. If the case is Micro ATX the mobo is smaller, only 4 expansion slots as opposed to seven.
