I returned home the other day to find my PC powered off. I tried turning it on, but nothing shows up on the screen, and there's no beeps coming from the motherboard. All of the fans are working on the GPU/CPU/PSU as normal. I tried reseating the GPU and RAM, which had no results. Any ideas?

Welcome to the Forums :) PSU failure or motherboard failure seem likely. Try unplugging the system, then remove the RAM and video card completely, plug it in and power it up. Now does it get beep codes?

If not, then if you have a different power supply that's suitable for the system, probably try that next. If that doesn't work, my guess is the motherboard quit working (but resetting the CMOS is worth trying if you haven't done so already).

Sounds like you lost one of the rails in your PS. I'm thinking the 5 volt rail from the sounds of it.

thanks for the feedback guys. I've got a gut feeling it's the PSU, since I left the computer on and it was off the next time I tried to use it. I don't think a motherboard failure would cause it to turn off, but I'm not an expert on this stuff. I suppose I'll order a new one and cross my fingers. thanks again!
