Need Help transferring files..

I am on windows 2000.

I want to transfer files from one machine to another (about 6 gigs worth). The file transfer keeps getting interupted, saying that the file is in use... It's off of a shared folder, so I'm guessing that someone might have it opened. Is there a way to copy in windows 2000, so that if the file is open, it would skip and go to the next files automatically?

what are you transferring if it is system files or dlls that are loaded windows cant copy em i would try to turn off everything but explorer in task manager and if that doesnt work try zipping the files and after a reboot transfer the zip. good luck

they are all either doc or xls files....(word document or Excel documents)..

Zip is not an option..

did you try to close everything that could be using them in task manager? if that doesnt work may be you are stuck using cds
