Need help system not starting

I built this system back in May everything was fine up to two weeks ago. I shut it off came back a few hrs later and it would not start. Not posting hard drive light comes on a couple of seconds then nothing. I thought it was the vid card but just put a new one still does not start.

My system AsusA8Ne mobo
Chaintech 6600gt
1 gb ram
80mb WD hard drive
Amd 3000+

Any suggestions

It could be the power supply. Try replacing that.

Sounds like PSU or motherboard. It could also be the cpu.

If it was the memory it would POST. If it was the PSU, it MOST LIKELY wouldn't even turn on, but if just a few components are bad in the unit then it would cause a problem similar to yours.

So then go with a replacement PSU if handy. Take it to a computer place and ask them if you can borrow a PSU for a bit.

If that's not it, then it's the motherboard or cpu. More likely one of these two.
