Need Help (Speakers & Monitors)

I am looking into getting some new speakers for my computer, I have pretty much decided on the Klipsch 4.1 system. In my area, they are priced around $300, no less. Does anyone know of anywhere online that I could find them for cheaper? I am also looking for a new monitor. I have narrowed it down to a 19", maybe even a 19"flat(not LCD) if I could find the right price. I have looked at Viewsonics and NECS. My system is going to be used mainly for gaming (besides normal internet use) What specifics should I be looking for? Like, I know I need the monitor to be able to handle decent resolutions, but what about refresh rates, and is there certain monitors better for game use? I can't afford to spend ALOT, but I am willing to spend a decent price to have the good quality. I want to keep it under $400, preferably in the $250-$350 range. I have heard you can find cheap places online, but haven't really found any yet. Your advice is appreciated.

For gaming I would try to go with an aperture grille monitor (Trinitron or Diamondtron). You'll appreciate the flat screen and more vibrant colors as compared to a shadow mask monitor which is also flat but produces less vibrant colors. Dell has a 10% off deal going on right now for all software and accessories. Take a look at the Samsung 900NF (Diamondtron tube) for $399 - 10% = $360. It's a great 19" flat screen monitor that is highly recommended by a lot of AnandTechers. They also have a Dell branded 19" with a Trinitron tube (UltraScan P991) for $349 - 10% = $315. Both are great monitors for the price.
