Hi All,

I recently installed the AMD Athlon? 64 Processor Driver for Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 Version (exe) 1.2.2.2 from this link http://www.amd.com/us-en/assets/content_type/utilities/amdcpu.exe]http://www.amd.com/us-en/assets/content_ty...ties/amdcpu.exe[/url]

After I installed these drivers the PC boots and goes through POST fine. However after the Microsoft Windows loading screen, when the windows login would normally come up, the monitor simply goes blank. This happens about 80% of the time 20% of the time the PC reboots after the loading screen. I cannot access safe mode as the same thing happens. I can get into the recovery console but I do not know how to restore the system from the console.

I am running Windows XP SP2
AMD Athlon 64 3400+ socket 754
Albatron K8X800 Pro II v2.0 Motherboard with VIA K8T800 chipset.
1 gig generic Ram (2 x 512MB)
Radeon 9800 Pro

I desperately need help with this problem. I do not know how to proceed at this point.
Thanks.

Before Windows starts loading (just after the BIOS splash screen) press F8 on the keyboard and select "Last Known Good" from the menu options. This should force Windows to go back to the configuration from just before you installed the driver.
