This is my first build and Im trying to be careful. I purchased a chaintech VNF3-250 and an athlon 3000+ 64. Most pc build guides on the net refer to pcs from 2002 or earlier; pcs with jumper-dependent mobos. Theres not much in chaintech's manual about jumper settings, so I want to know if its ok to just hook everything up without moving jumpers around?

Before mounting in the case, sometimes it's a good idea to test it first on top of the box the board came in, or a phonebook (any non conductive material, with some space for the video card to hang over). Just one stick of memory, cpu/heatsink, video, and power switch (or you can touch the 2 pins with a screwdriver), as well as 20 pin atx and 12v connectors.

nope u dont need to mess with any jumpers ;) yea but its a good idea to first get it to post outside of the case.
