Need help selecting my next memory

Ok...need some feedback from the following memory modules I am looking at buying for my current rig, which is running a Gigabyte DS3 (1.0) and a C2D E6600.

However, I am replacing the motherboard with this new mobo in about a month:

So, I need some RAM that will work well with my current mobo and then this new mobo.

I have never really understood how to rate memory and pick what is best...that is why I come here, for help and advice.

Any non down-binned D9GMH/D9GKX kit does good nowadays, so you can pick up any and have fun & good results.

Hmm...not sure I quite understand. Matched up one of yoru G.Skills to the one on my list...

I was planning on OC'ing a little bit, but I am by no means an extreme overclocker.

Suggestions on RAM that I can ran standard as well as OC a bit to boost performance a tad?

Wanted it to work with my current board (gigabyte DS3 v1.0) and my new mobo coming in a month (posted above, Abit.)

Micron D9 chips are "legendary" for their performance and flexibility in timings/voltage.

The rest is just your personal preference. D9's only ensure that you are running the top quality IC's.

And, of course, it all depends how much money you are willing/able to spend.

So I should be good with either the G.SKill #1 or the mushkin...?

Also, I was curious about super talent. I have heard good things about their memory. This true? The memory I posted above, any idea what chip it uses?

By all means, I want stability and performance, but I am not going to OC the crud out of my system. 🙂

Also, cooling is something i need to consider.

Well, I have been "happily" using G.Skill HZ sries in 2x1GB and 2x512MB variants, performing flawlessly.

But some members of this forum misread my enthusiasm as promoting the G.Skill memory in general!

All I can say is that G.Skill works for me perfectly. But Mushkin's timings are tighter, voltage requirements lower or equal, and they publicly guarantee Micron D9's!

Honestly, with all the "shroud of doubt", if I were to buy it today, it would be Mushkin - ONLY because they guarantee Micron D9 IC's.

P.S. Please check if they have the matching 2x512MB modules, if you wanted to take the 3GB route. It is very important that all 4 modules use the matching chips.

G.Skill does.
