I am needing information or help on where to order a replacement screen for an HP g60-519wm. Somehow my son busted the LCD and it is going to cost almost $300 for a local shop to buy a replacement and fix it. If I can purchase my own replacement I have a friend who is the computer tech for the school that I used to work at that will replace it for $35. Please help. Thank you

Unfortunately, the screen is one of the more expensive parts to replace. Even worse, in your case, is that you can probably find a far better new machine with better specs for your machine for close to what it would cost to repair it. For example, over the past few weeks, I've seen this HP CQ62-340US on sale at Staples, Office Depot for between $340 - $380 after a $50 rebate. This machine has a dual core Athlon II Processor, instead of the Celeron in your machine, a 320GB hard drive and a max of 8 GB of RAM, instead of 4, and it doesn't rely on the Intel chipset for onboard graphics.

That deal isn't available, this week, but it or something close should be available again soon.

I know it's painful to lose a machine like this, but that's the nature of laptops. You may be able to salvage the RAM and hard drive for later use.

Thank you for your replies. I am thinking I will just buy a monitor for my laptop and then buy another. I just don't know where to begin on purchasing a new one. What would you suggest?
