"CORE Registrar: CORE-11

Record created: 1998-12-12 00:00:00 UTC by NSI
Record expires: 2001-12-11 00:00:00 UTC"

uhh....doesn't that mean today?? So why is that when I try to register it, it says it's still taken? I tried chatting with one of Network Solutions chat bots, but they gave me some generic "There are ICANN rules" and gave me their website (which is a zoo...lol!).

Can anyone help me out with this? NS offers a 'Snap it' feature which says it will get the name for me as soon as it's available..but that's $49 NON-REFUNDABLE dollars.....

Thanks in advance.

If they are anything like Network Solutions they'll probably give the original domain owner several days, I think 45-60 days after the domain expires before they'll free it up.

I think you just want to renew it, you don't want to register it.

Who did you register it with to begin with?

I've been trying to get one for a friend that expired from the other company weeks ago, they even said in 10 days it opens up and its been 20+ already, how they decide to make it available again I will never know.

Not to sound discouraging, but some domains do slip through the cracks. I would imagine, as others have said, they will let it sit around a few more weeks before closing it. You have to watch closely though because Ive done this before and have seen squatters sneak in and steal a domain.

I was trying to get a domain that had expired over 2 years ago to be "released". I called Network Solutions several times and it was always "it will be added to the que" but it never was for 6 months. Then one day I looked and someone had snagged it.
