Need Help Quick with PSU

Hey guys,

My system is in the signature, the HP's 300W PSU runs it, but on a couple of occasions during a hard gaming session with NFS Most Wanted the system froze and after a couple of seconds came back as if nothing happened, also sometimes during Far Cry's Lan it freezes and reboots, first I thought it was the Gfx card's overclock but 3D mark's overnight loop ran fine. This led me to conclude that the PSU is slightly falling short, mainly in games that are both CPU and GPU intensive, otherwise the system is a model of stability in all other games and normal work.

I decided to get a new PSU, I found this

This is an ATX 2.01 PSU, moreover it's a Fortron. But tell me if it would be enough for an upgrade to Geforce 8 whenever it comes out. I don't plan to add anything more to the system, except swap the gfx card. I mean the 300W falls short only so, I'm sure my current system at 100% load should draw about 320W MAX. So will the FSF 400W tide me through, give an opinions guys and quick.

Please also suggest an alternative with the price if possible, my max budget is $50 shipped, I want max watts from a quality name, but will be happy to spend as less as possible.

Im sorry i cant recommend a specific psu, but i would suggest not going below 400w...

$50 with shipping is a tough on. I'm assuming your graphics card is PCI-e? Do not go below 400W. I'd go with 450w-500w to be on the safe side, especially with upgrading.

Actually I do lean towards Fortron more because of the recent high fail rate with Antec. That is a good price, thanx Arcanedeath

Please let me know I can get this for $50 shipped and from what I've heard Coolermaster is a good PSU maker.

the coolermaster is also good.
i've owned all of the supplies that have been mentioned here and i dont think that you are going to go wrong with any of them. they should all be good for what you are looking for. if i were doing what you are doing, i'd get the antec, but the others arent a bad choice either. they are all good second tier power supplies.

Thanks a lot foofoo, I think I'll finally go with the coolermaster 430W, its $49.95 (with 2 day free shipping) with no MIR's to wait upon, so that helps to make up my mind. Hopefully with a 90nm transition the Geforce 8 won't suck up more than 150W, till then I'm fine . So I guess this one will be enough for me.
