I just put it back but after 5-10 min use it starts artifacting. i am assuming i may not do putting thermal pads properly on memoWhat could it be the problem? it seems like 75C on idle then starts artifacting. i didnt clean ther compound on memory chip and put back the stock heatsink with its thermal pads. Do i have to clean chips? or can i use artic silver alumina instead of thermal pads for memory chips(of course not for mofset)?

please some one help me with that. I am gonna sell it but need to sort this out first.

If you have 75 C in idle then that cooler is mounted wrong. Don't clean the pads on the memory chips and voltage regulators, use them as they are, maybe apply a bit of AS5 on them, before installing. But I have the impression that you did something terribly wrong on the gpu area. Clean the gpu and the area that mounts on it, from the heatsink, with isoporpilyc alcohol and then apply a drop of AS5 on the gpu. Mount the cooler and see if it happens again. Also make sure you've plugged the fan right into the card.

I agree with error8. Make sure the fan is running!
